Our Story

I began my Astronomy Journey as a small child pretending to be an Astronaut. I grew up in the woods in a small town in southern New Jersey where it was dark. The sky would dazzle at night. My dad showed me the movie Apollo 13 in 1995. After I saw it, my love for space and science sparked! I received my first telescope a short time later and began learning the night sky. 

In 2017 I launched my own Outreach project called "Nick Wightman Astronomy" and transitioned it to "Astronomy by Astr0Nick" in 2019. My goal was to deliver factual information in wake of  of fake memes and information about space and science. I enhanced my engagement through being a volunteer as a NASA Solar System Ambassador and began doing outreach events all over the country. In 2022, I did my first star party event and engaged with over 2,000 individuals in a week with my telescope. That's when I realized, educational outreach is my place in the universe. Two years later, Stellar Outreach is born!
